Pine shavings in the water!

We have raised ours and doesn't seem to matter. The best luck we've had has been hanging them and going to eventually switch to nipples or cups

Thanks! How old would you say before they can start to use the cups?

I'll try that, thanks! Yes it's pretty thick...they're in our house and that's the only thing that seems to help the smell a bit.

I do my thin and dump it every day or two(according to how many chicks are in it)----I never have a problem with much shavings in the open waterer.

Cups or nipples I've researched can be used from day one and I like the idea of the cleanliness. Showing them where the water is has always been important but seems they'll figure it out on their own either way
