pine shavings?

I catch my 7 week old Buff Orpington eating the pine shavings occasionally. It hasn't seemed to bother her. She is also eating chick starter and drinking plenty of water. She has been pooping regularly as well.

So in these pictures are my chicks in blue tote was wondering if this brooder I made with boxes is too big for them just yet should I make it smaller I only have six chicks I put them in it for like five mins they seemed terrified and one did eat shavings so I put them back in tote but it gets pooped up so fast what should I do???! Lol

I've had them since march 11th

The bigger the better. See my sig line. They see terrified because it's new surroundings but they will seen get used it and get back to normal.
