OK, I know there are threads like this out there already, but Im confused because my bird's eye is indeed swollen, but has no yellow or white discharge in it or around it..... So Im not sure if it is sinuses or a wound....
Background, got this bird about three weeks ago, seems fine and healthy. I was at work all day yesterday and didn't see them till after 10pm. Boyfriend said he thinks she got her eye poked out, while I appreciate his concerns, he can be dramatic. Her eye was still there, but swollen and pink.... She still was walking around fine, eating, drinking. And could open it if she wanted to, but otherwise it would stay closed. Went to see them this morning and it looked a little bit more swollen, still when I opened it, no yellow or white clumps inside. Instead it looks like her third eyelid has a red bump on its edge.... She does not sneeze or have a runny nose either.
Ive read other threads about how they squeesed the eye and discharge came out, I tried that, just to see if anything would come out, but nothing did. Maybe I didn't do it hard enough, didn't want to hurt her, or nothing has developed yet. I just don't know what it is or what to do!
I can get pics if needed, but with the info given, any ideas? I will get vetericyn today and see if it helps any.
