Nice. He looks like a keeper (even though I called him a her).He doesn't have one yethe's a keeper though and will be a sire in my Ermine pen next year.

Keep up with the school work!
I'm looking at learning quick books so that I can go into book keeping.
I had a huge breakdown October 2nd / 3rd and I'm on leave from work at the moment. Sigh, I'm definitely bipolar. I was handling it on my own with out medication for about 20ys and now I can't seam to do that anymore after my dad's death. It got so bad I was having panic attacks just going out to take care of the chickens.
I hope I can keep my job but I'm not sure I will. We will see. Will probably be out another 4 to 6 weeks until meds are working.
The swings are pretty bad right now. While I'm looking forward to my appointment Monday I'm also terribly anxious as well.
Look at my poor Mango, she's definitely spicy now. But, she's running from the others vs chasing after them. I feel bad for her. This is the hardest molt I've seen with any of my chickens.

All very nice!Back taxes!! I have a bunch!
First, this is grainy, but Freia and Amaretto were grumping on the perches this day and it amused me, so I had to grab a picture

This one is also a bit blurry, but here's a view of the crowd at coop opening, barging their way out to the yardI love Myrna's face in the upper right

Perdita was in no mood for pictures that morning

As is tradition, I grabbed a pumpkin for the girls to enjoy. Here's Fifi getting a good start at it:

Later the same day, Gwenyth and Janice were working away at it still:

The next day, Gwenny was still hogging it

Finally, Gwenyth gave someone else a shot, so Ivy and Augusta shared it for a bit:

The following day, the kids finally got a shot at it!

...And by the next day, it had been pecked down to just a deflated rind that no one wanted to chew their way through.
Continuing the autumnal theme of those pictures, here are some birds enjoying the fallen leaves this past week or so. Miss Nora:

Peanut Butter did not want her picture taken that day

Attempt 1 for a picture of Findlay. I love how her stripes contrast with the leavesShe was looking rather accusingly at me, though

And attempt number 2. I like the look on her face more and the brightness of the leaves, but this one turned out a bit blurry for some reason.

And that's all I have. Hope that makes up for some of my inactivity lately!![]()
Yay I’m so happy your mom is getting better!!!PHEW, this past couple weeks has been... somethingI started my 8-week lab required for my program, and holy moly is there a lot to get done in 8 weeks!! On top of that my other classes have been ramping up as well! 6 weeks to go in the semester, I've just gotta survive 6 more weeks View attachment 3979669
On the positive side of things, my mom had her MRI and is negative for all possible metastases!! Her oncologist says she's at stage II, which is better than the stage III we were all suspecting and much better than the possibility of stage IV we were worrying about!! She starts chemotherapy this week, which is scary and will be rough, but her oncologist is confident that she's got a lot of years ahead of her still.
I do have a little bit of sad news. Louis passed away unexpectedly the night before last, which was a bit of a shock. This coincided with our first night of the season cold enough to really give us a frost, so perhaps something more was going on with him and the cold just pushed him over the edge. At any rate, I don't have many recent pictures of him, but here he was in the summertime with his three brothers, Louis being the one closest to the camera in this shot:

And now for my back taxes.I do have significantly more than last time, so I'm going to go ahead and split them into another post as my computer tends to get weird with too many uploads at once. So back taxes coming up next!
