Pipd's Peeps!

That teacher sounds like a real jerk. He knows it is a hard subject so why make it difficult for everyone.

aww Crashie is using her little voice now. How could a tiny duck like that be so loud? I bet she misses you when you go to classes. To bad you can't take her with you.

Have a great day and the weekend is almost here.

He said something about it being better for practice, if I remember correctly. I don't know, seems rather cruel to me. Pretty much everyone in there is only there because they have to be, not because they want to be. He's better than my genetics prof, though. From all reports, the genetics prof makes his class as hard as possible to weed out the people he doesn't think is worthy of being a bio major, and all bio majors have to take that class. The worst part there was that he spent the first 15 minutes of almost every class talking about the other classes he would be teaching in upcoming semesters. :he I barely got out of that class with a B and I'm beyond happy with that!

Aaaanyway, I got finished with my most imminently due homework, so I went ahead and took the pictures of the babies today, since it was nice out and I had time. :) They will be exactly 4 months old tomorrow. In alphabetical order:

Callette:

Cazzie:

1000

Endymion:

1000

Flury:

1000

Izzy:

And Umru the Giant:

A few extras just for the fun of it. Here's Endymion again:

1000

Cazzie's fluff butt.

1000

Rooska coming back from the woods. Her face is so funny in this picture!

1000

Rooska again, perched in a bush:

1000

This is everyone except Lydda and Cazzie, getting a drink together. :love Aren't they precious?

1000

Cazzie on a log:

1000

Izzy, throwing a wicked look my way!

1000

Endymion again. She's just so pretty! :love I love the lacing look on her chest!

1000

Izzy and Flury smushed together. One of the Dorkings (I think Callette, but I'm not 100% sure who that was) decided to smush in there at the last minute, too.

1000

Flury is so floofy!! :love :love

1000

Last one of the youngsters is this side-by-side shot of Umru and Flury. Umru is just MASSIVE!

1000

And just a couple more pictures. I'm sorry, Pattyhen, I tried to get a few nice pictures of Crashie, but she was being such a butthead! This is the only good picture I managed to get of her today:

1000

And the last one is Miss Marka sitting on her nest before laying her egg for the day :love

Wow you really got some great pics. They all look so fluffy and beautiful. Cazzies bottom looks so pretty it almost looks like a ribbon. Rooska coming from the woods looks like she was up to something and she almost got caught. Izzys muffs are getting so big she almost needs a hairband to be able to see.

Crash what can I say your adoreable. This sweet little duck being a butthead. No way she is so innocent looking.

Thanks so much for sharing the pics I love them all. Have a great evening.

Interesting day. Actually, I'm kind of ticked, but nothing I won't get over, I'm sure. My sister decided, spur of the moment, to go and get a puppy, the same thing she continually does under the guise of getting them for someone else. This time, she got a Basset Hound puppy "for her boyfriend". We already have 3 large dogs and 6 cats, all but two cats brought here because she's always doing this, and, well, now we have a 4th dog. :he So I'm kind of ticked at her lack of forethought. Not only was she told that this breed is known for grabbing and eating anything it can, something that should not have been brought into a house with 2 young children and their little toys and habit of not carrying trash to the trash can, but this puppy has been harassing the cats since it got here, and my niece and nephew are going nuts and nearly hurting it because they haven't been taught how to properly handle a puppy. Just, ugh!!

So I spent most of the evening with the chickens because I don't want anything to do with her or her new dog, and while I was at it, I got a video of the little silkied Cochins taking their first steps out into the mini-yard. :D

I got another video, but my phone died before it could upload, so I'll have to post it later. That one is cute because Cordelia noticed the camera at the end and came right up to check it out. :love These guys are so cute!

I'm sorry about the problems your having with the new puppy. I hope things settle down in your house.

The cochans are just gorgeous. I think they are the prettiest chickens I have ever seen. Thanks so much for sharing the video.

Yeah, I'm just frustrated because she never thinks before she does something like this. :/ It's one thing me deciding to bring in more chickens, when I've proven I take care of them and I actually have the space for them. It's another thing entirely to get a puppy spur of the moment to be brought into a house already crowded by the 3 large dogs and 4 cats she already brought in, and then mostly ignored once they were no longer new and interesting.

But I'll get over it eventually. I just am going to be angry about it for a while.

Anyway back to happy things, mainly chickens. :) Looks like Marka is taking a turn at being broody now. Wynne the air-headed Easter-egger was in the favored nest this morning, the one that they've made in the corner of the coop on the floor, and Marka obviously wanted to brood there because, seriously, that's the favored nest. So Marka spent much of the morning standing in the doorway of the coop waiting on Wynne while grumbling and growling at anyone that passed her going in and out. Ah, chickens.

Meanwhile, I think I may have already managed to spoil those little silkied Cochins. I took them a hand full of scratch grains the other day and let them eat out of my hand, and since then they've been under foot and they look up at me so expectantly with their big eyes like they just know I have more treats for them... :love They're too stinkin' cute!!

Oh, and I talked Crashie into cooperating for just a few more pictures today. She cooperated because I had her out of her pen and on the couch, where she wanted to be. It would have been more, but my camera died and I couldn't go switch the battery out while she was loose on the couch, of course. Here's what I got, anyway.

Here's the classic Crash "who, me?" pose:

Trying to get close enough to nibble on the camera lens:

She loves sticking her beak under the pillows and rooting around.

For sure! Common sense sure doesn't seem so common! :barnie Unfortunately, she does things like this and no one knows until it's already happened. She's the epitome of the kid that finds a dog on the street and drags it home to their parents to ask if they can keep it.

Nope, nope, nope! No chicks this late in the year! Marka gets the broody buster treatment! :tongue And yes, Wynne really is an air head, haha!

That's how it is here, always hopping from one nest to the next for 'the good one'. It's a chicken thing, we wouldn't understand.

Crash? Spoiled? Not at all!
