I went and sat in the chair in the new coop/ coop with issues from storm Beryl that I'm working on and everyone came to hang out with me even the flighty ones!

The white Phoenix cockerel my friends daughter named Lucky and I named Ghost is passing tonight. Not sure why, but no signs until yesterday. He just stood on the water trough and kept drinking and wasn't acting right. Sultan my 4yr old Spitzhauben roo made space for him on the roost bar last night and this morning wouldn't let the girls trample over him to get out. I watched him and he was eating a bit and drinking but when I went to put up for the night he was more lethargic and I had to shoo my lavenderAmeraucana roo off from him. He wasn't attacking him but trying to gode him in to a spar. So I brought him in and was making some egg yoke and nutra drench for him. He didn't want any so left him alone for a bit. Checked on him before bed and he was seizing with his head thrown back. I stroked him till it subsided and covered the tote but im sure he's going to be gone in the morning as he's making death noises.

A quick check in with my picture of the day, day 56 I believe. I don't think the tops of the waterers were meant to be little seats for chickens, but Opal believes otherwise I guess.

Lucky Ghost did re-aferm why Sultan will always have a place in the flocks. He's such a good boy protector of hens and good boy cockerels that are up and coming.

He actually looked for me at put up time so I hope he felt better that he wasn't alone and with me at the time.
