I hatched 11 chicks last Saturday. Unfortunately none of the Polish eggs I purchased hatched. I found a woman only 30 miles from me who has Polish due to hatch on Friday. Can I buy 2 or 3 from her and place them with my chicks? Mine will be 10 days old when these will be 3 days old. Will they accept them or pick on them?

They should get along. Chicks are more accepting than older chickens. I have mixed chicks of assorted ages many times with little pecking or other problems.

I just got a reshipment of chicks because five out of ten on my first order died. The surviving chicks of the first order are a week and two days old now, while the new chicks are just two days old. Younger chicks need higher temperatures of 95 to 100 degrees F., while week olds need only temperatures of 90 degrees F. I'm keeping the two orders of chicks separate because of temperature difference and the older, larger chicks will probably pick on the younger chicks. Just a suggestion.
