PLANTED GARDEN TODAY - anybody planting yet?

We have had our garden turned and some of that super dooper pooper fertilizer turned in.....we have trans-planted our strawberries, we have gotten our raised beds ready, our 50# bag red pontiac tater sets ordered, going to order about 100 onion sets (home grown onions ar ethe bomb

) We will be getting the cabbage in before to long and the rest will have to wait until after April 1st.

I am like the rest of you.....ready to dig in some dort and get dirty

But lets not push it.....because with the garden comes long {{{hot}}} harvesting/hoeing days.

Some of my transplants are ready, but it's raining so they'll go out on monday.

it really doesn't help when i keep getting catalogs and emails from the seed and plant supply places. i can't spend any more money till the dh gets a job again so i have to work with seeds this year and i don't have much indoor space that isn't taken up with chickens or other stuff.

No garden here until after April 20th. That's the day of our last frost. Planted once the week before and lost everything.

IWANT SOME REAL 'MATERS!!!! Those things in the grocery right now

Me too!! My first year. I have never been good at growing anything, I am a plant killer so I am terrified I will ruin all our crops.

We are going to do a few seedlings but dont have much room for them, most everything will be planted right outside.

I worry about a late frost- will that automatically kill seeds?? Or does it do more damage to plants?? So clueless.

If I could dig thru the 10 inches of snow I would soo have my garden done already... Darn Snow...

I started begonias, two colors of echinacea, Jade Cross B. Sprouts , and Chelsea tomatoes yesterday. I'll start everything else - more tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, etc in the last week of February, the beginning of maple sugar season. I can actually see the days getting longer - what an upper!

thanks Wifezilla, i just meant that with out the income from my dh i can't get the rest of the parts to build my greenhouse so i have extra space for the seed flats when i go to start them. i have tons of seeds from previous years that are still good to use. my indoor area is now taken up with an indoor pen for my broody moma and her chicks right now and i have so many more going to hatch soon that i won't have the space this year to start a lot of what i want to do!
