So got home on friday and took everything out of the box.
Saturday I primed all the pieces individually:
And Sunday I put on the first coat of red on the siding and assembled the body:
In theory, every wood surface that can be reached has at least one layer of primer and one layer of paint on it.
Next weekend will be to make a floor using the huge pallet that came with the coop, and painting the second coat of red over the building.
Once that is done and dry, hopefully by Sunday, I'll mask off the red and paint all the things in white, white! Good thing they make a latex paint usable down to 35F. Else nothing would get done around here.
Then the following weekend, put the play house on the floor, attach it, and put the roof on!
Then even after that, I'll free up one of the breeder tractors and be all ready for the next batch of chicks!
