Ended up with way more babies than originally intended. Didn’t want to put them in separate pens (or buy another brooder plate), so my fairly simple solution was to zip tie the two pens together at the doors. Heat plate is on one side, food and water on the other. Wasn’t sure if the idea might help anyone else - it was a fairly economical solution.

So much room for activities!

Neat idea! How many chicks did you raise in there? I have 15 coming, double what I wanted, but it'll be ok. Trying to plan to keep them in the house for 10-14 days.

We have 11 in there. Six bantams (5-6 weeks old) and 4 larger breed pullets (almost 3 weeks old). They still have plenty of room. Planning on flipping the brooding plate up vertically this week, as they’ve stopped sleeping under it and tend to lay in piles together elsewhere. I’m hoping we’ll be good until they’re all old enough to go outside!
