all fine no injuries just shook me up and didnt feel like driving anymore so just turned round and came home again! tescos not far from me and i need to go out to shops tomorrow anyway. chooks did eat the cat food in the end thou, think they are just a bit wary of new things at first. lol

Know what you could also try, see if you can find some very low salt cottage cheese. I have given the regular cottage cheese to my chickens before when they were 'runny' and it did help. You don't want to give them much though because regular cottage cheese has a bit of salt in it. I've also used hard cheddar for the same thing. Again, not a lot, just a small piece.

It almost sounds to me like something they used on your bird didn't set well with her and this is how she's showing it. Probiotics, vitamins and plain yogurt and you're already doing that. Only other thing I can think of is a little baby rice cereal mixed with banana. Now this is a stretch, it will work on humans, dogs and cats, maybe it'll work on a chicken. I don't think it can hurt.

haunted 55 thank you. i hope it is just a little irritation or something. im not liking how long its going on! be two weeks on monday! i do hope it stops soon. id love to see her without any problems, its been so long. still she seems so well in herself right now and shes so much heavier and stronger now. so shes better than shes been in a long while. if this blood stops she'll be as good as she can be,with her condition. and ill be more than relived!

Look, if her comb is red and not pink, I would say just watch right now. Try the stuff but try not to worry too much. As Casportpony has said so many times...get a digital kitchen scale. Weigh her and do so every so many days. If she is gaining or even holding, I'd say just wait it out. If she starts losing...then get help from the Vet.. Sometimes chickens can be real brats, lol, and will just be contrary because they can be. If you are a woman...you know that a little blood can really seem like a lot. Lol, sorry, couldn't think of any other way to put it. Please let us know what happens! so many times a thread just stops and we're left hanging! I really hate mysteries...I much prefer a happy ending anyday!

Shell: Hang in there with this. The part where Bombie is bright in herself is what you pay attention to the most. I know the dribble of blood tainted poo is causing worry for you...but always remember the bigger picture.

As I think about this, I think about the things she has eaten and blocked her crop/digestive tract and I wonder if some of those things you know like the excessive grit she ate that one time are sort of tearing bit by bit through her digestive tract, causing this irritation as it travels through....It's been a long haul though...you'd think all of the travelling of the "foreign bodies" would be done by now. Thinking out loud again and probably not even pertinent.

I will tell you though that last fall I watched for a good week or 10 days one of my hens drop sloughings of her digestive tract. It was everyday for a good week or more. It started worrying me after that much time. I knew what it was...but it still made me overthink things though. And blood is cause for a bit more worry than intestinal sloughings...so I give you that, in what you're dealing with. Feel like this goes on and on for you. Wishing for a well birdie for you SOON. Uff-da.

thanks guys xxx her combs staying a pinkish red,its not as red as the others but it hasnt been a bright red for about 4 months so its a differcult one to call, its not getting pale thou so im watching it for that. still pink poop at the moment, and i am a woman and know exactly what you mean about it looking more than it is lol. shes bright and feisty ,eating drinking and dust bathing ect. she seems happy. ill have another go with the kitchen scale! not had success with weighing her myself so far but cant keep taking her to the vet to be weighed at £10 a time!! lol bogtown you may be right about the things passing through causing irratation, the xray showed some stuff moving theough the intestine that day and thats when this started. im staying positive and will keep a close eye on her. i wont leave you hanging for an ending, nothing will give me greater pleasure than posting that shes recovered! lol xxx

guys just realised i missed a few posts on page 4! about posting pics of your diner and such!lol
looks like i ignored them! i didnt just missed them,i do have a sense of humour really :)
thou ill take a pass on your dinner pics anyway!lol
i like the post about it being medicine, thats how i see it. i wouldnt eat it myself but i can manage feeding it
to a chicken!lol

Lol! I have to admit, this threw me a bit too. All I could think of was the time my Husband took me to a very fancy restaurant. Now I love smoked trout, oh yes I do! Well I ordered it for the appertizer and it showed up head, eyes and all. It went back, head, eyes and all too, lol. That just totally grossed me out. Now if I see it on a menu, I am very explicit with how I order it and warn the wait person that if it's looking back, it'll be finding it's way back to the kitchen.

lol thats so funny :) my father in law loves to wind me
up about the whole vegan thing and if we go out to eat
he'll order what ever he thinks will effect me the most!
once he ordered a lamb hock, dont know if thats something
you have but it just looked like what it is,a leg on a plate!
it made me sick but i just ignored it and made no comment! lol
so he had to sit there knorring away on his leg all disappointed!!lol

well bombies poop is still pink! no sign of reduction in the pinkness!
shes bright in herself but her crops felt slightly larger the last couple of days
so im hoping shes not headed for another problem! i know this will happen throughout
her life and i just need to deal with that but i hoped id get the poop sorted before
we had to deal with the crop again! ill speak to vet again monday and see how he feels about
her still bleeding. not sure what more he can do but i want to know how long this can go on
before it becomes life threatening.
