Please can you tell me if this a cockerel or a hen

Feeding corn.. Have you tried it?
I can’t say I have fed 100% corn, but I did feed an unbalanced diet with a high corn percentage. It was hurtful to my chicken’s health, and I was not informed enough to realize why I was having issues. I now feed a balanced diet. My chickens are visibly healthier.

Are you sure?

Looks like a hen to me. Brahma?

Corn as a sole source of nutrition is good for neither man nor beast. It is very high in fat, and is unbalanced in terms of other valuable nutrients. It will give you fat birds that are malnourished at the same time. Think of it like chicken candy, a little is okay but too much is not great.

There's no need to try feeding 100% corn. There have been plenty of research articles and clinical trials done that show that 100% - or even much less - corn is not an acceptable diet.

I agree. And to anyone out there who wants to argue with Odd, be warned. She is intelligent and knows the answer to basically anything you could ask about chickens. I swear to you. Go look at her posts. Listen to what she says.
