Ariel smiled. "All right. Hello, Bob. I am Esther's Mommy." She said kindly, half jokingly.

Esther looked up at him, and nodded her head a few times, saying "A-huh". "He says he like you Esther's mommy." She said.

"Thank you Bob. I like you too." She said, grinning.

Phoebe, coming to graze with the others due to her misfortune and sadness, silently snickered at Esther's new pet butterfly. The mare stepped closer, the sun on her beautiful buckskin coat and long and sleek, jet black mane. "Hello," she said in a neutral tone, flicking the flies from her rump with her nearly ground sweeping tail.

"How are you?" Phoebe asked Ariel, her deep chocolate brown eyes focused on the glistening strands of grass below her. She fluttered her lashes for a split second and then took a mammoth-sized bite, leaving small pieces of the green delicacy on her muzzle. Sheepishly, she licked the excess grass from her face and smiled. The mare hadn't eaten in a day or so due to worrying about her now long gone colt.
