Esther, crying quietly, laid down painfully and yelped. "It hurts...." She said.

"I know," he hummed soothingly. He glanced over at Ira, and gave a weak smile. He turned back to Esther and began licking her wounds, cleaning them. The cuts were many, and flowing a dark river of crimson onto the ground below. "Take deep breaths," he mumbled in between licks, trying to keep his own panic under control.

Ira began licking her wounds as well.

"Sprite?" Remus lifted his head from licking Esther's wounds, and turned to see Sprite lying on the ground, unconscious. His brown eyes widened, and his mouth parted in a silent groan of agony. With pain in his eyes, he wrenched his gaze from Sprite and began licking Esther again, wishing with all his might for someone to come along and help him take care of the filly and mare.

"Not really. They c-came over and killed the filly almost instantly," she cried, motioning to the dead soul spread across her back, blood dripping down onto her belly. "Then the stallions noticed I was pregnant so they kicked my stomach...I tried to fight back but my energy was bad...They managed to black me out and leave my skin torn up like the rats they are!" She shook her head and held back her tears. "Are you okay?"

Adam ignored her question, "Did they... Kill it?" He asked, meaning her unborn foal.

"I don't know, they didn't kick exceedingly hard," she said. "Let's hope not. I cannot bare having another dead foal."

Apollo moaned and woke up, blinking rapidly and looking at Yang. He half smiled casually, and looked at her. "Hey Yang, l-long time n-no see." He said in a very raspy voice. "And th-thank you." He said, becoming serious again.

She simply nodded to him and moved over to Sprite, grimacing at the taste of blood as she placed the sheets of moss. Seeing that she would need much more, Yang bolted away to find more moss.

Sprite spasmed and kicked out, then fell into an even deeper level of unconsciousness.

"I'm fine, mommy," she rushed into her mother's chest, curling her head under her neck and closing her eyes tight. "I--I was near the forest when it all started. I stayed there when I heard the noises, the screams. . ." she gave a small sob. "What happened, mommy? Is everyone all right?"

"No Gemma... Some horses got killed, and some got hurt. You need to nurse, then we'll leave..." She said softly, cuddling her close.

Miley walked up three foals following behind. "What should i do to help?" she asked looking around at all the dead bodies

Gemma shook her head firmly. She couldn't eat, her stomach felt like it had tied itself into a dozen knots. "Where's Esther? And Chance? And Ira?" she whispered, eyes wide. "And what about you, mommy? I smell blood. It isn't you. . . is it?" she whimpered.

"They're fine..." Layla trailed off, "Yes, I'm bleeding, but I'll be fine." She sighed, "Now come on, time to eat..".

Esther obeyed, and closed her eyes, trying to not give in to the sleep she felt coming on. She tried breathing deeply like Remus said, each breath raspy and painfilled. She did her best not to cry, and scream in pain, so she kept her mouth closed tightly.

"Ira?" Remus called urgently to the filly next to him. "Can you try and find a poppy flower? The seeds are great pain killers."

"Yes, of course." Ira galloped off to find a poppy.
