Please give me advice!

Sounds great. You won't be able to sex ducklings at rural king. If you do get ducklings, they need to be kept separate until feathered and look like an adult because your drake will want to mate or could potentially kill a duckling. A look don't touch set up would be best in that situation.
With that said, you could get adult ducks from craigslist or even through your local state thread here on byc. It would be the easiest and quickest to find him some friends.

If you get ducklings at Rural King, plan on having to rehome some of them as you probably won’t be lucky enough to get all females.

Craigslist is a good option like soon2b suggested.

And yes please ask questions! Someone is usually here to help you guys out!

What wonderful news to come into this morning. I am so happy to hear you and your mom are going to keep him [name] And now he is safe and sound. Please keep us updated on how he is doing and when you get him some friends. I agree at least 2-3 girls are best. Just so happy for you all:hugs

and hopefully any questions you have we'll try our best to answer for you!

His name is Rice! He's a personable little guy, that's why my mom couldn't bear to part with him! I'll be sure to post pics later. We'll also get him some lady friends. Thanks for the suggestions!

Agree with the others. . if you can find some adult females that would be ideal. And even then you *might* still have to go through an introduction period of keeping them separate, But I think 2 oral 3 females Would be the best for best case scenario. Another drake only if that's your only option. It would take quite a long time for ducklings to be totally safe around him. Most drakes don't take to ducklings well and he will likely try to mate them and that wouldn't end well.
It doesn't have to be a Pekin necessarily but do keep in mind the size and weight of a Pekin and try to get something comparable so he won't hurt them. :)

On Craigslist I see lots of Ancona hens. Would those be an okay size to keep with him? I'm reading up on them and they seem lovely but I can't really find anything about keeping them with a Pekin.

Sorry for no update for so long!
The guy keeping anconas stopped replying to us and we were having a hard time finding any other ducks in our area, but we stumbled upon to someone who had a ton of younger ducks. We ended up taking his two largest females, but we are keeping an eye out on Craigslist for one or two more. He said they are around 3 months old and he said our drake should do fine with them. Rice has been doing really well with them, but today a few times he has started try to rape them when they were out in the pen. Are they old enough to deal with him or should we separate him? They all love each other the rest of the time and there hasn't been any other issues.
He seems much happier now in his new environment with friends now though! And they all get more and more personable. From left to right it's Basil, Rice, and Cashew.
