I have a red frizzle bantam, Twinkie, that will be one month old on April 6th and ever since 3 days ago I noticed that it had only 1 nostril and when it slept it kept on opening her beak gasping for air. But since today, I see both nostrils... Anyway, it has a little bit of a runny nose and is still breathing noisily. This is my FAVORITE chick of the 3, we have bonded so much and I couldn't bare to lose her!!!
She always was the most hyper, energetic, athletic one and since about 3 days ago she is almost always sleeping and when awake, is eating very slowly and a little amount or drinking. She still has some energy she could run or fly, but is just overly tired. I read that yogurt has good probiotics for their digestive system so I got some vanilla activia probiotic yogurt, and about every 30 minutes I dab some on her beak so she'll lick it. I really hope that helps, cause each day she's getting slower and sicker! I plan to go to my 4H poultry leader and maybe she could help but I need your help too!!! PLEASE tell me what illness this is and what I could do to help! THANK YOU!!!!
