Bock, please don't blame yourself. It sounds like you did a great job taking care of this baby - sometimes they just don't make it.

Just remember he could have been sick before you got him and better do something than nothing at all! I have raised LOTS of finches and I've had a whole little brood die, and you know what the next year when the parents abandoned there babies again i took them in and they ALL survived and were succsessfully released! So don't blame yourself! Please!

It is just so hard when you do everything you can, and it just isn't enough.

But sometimes that is just how it is I guess.

I checked on him this morning, and he had passed away.

Oh, I'm so sorry!

It's extremely hard when you lose a baby that you've cared for. But take comfort in knowing that you gave him love and he knew human kindness. Sometimes they just go despite all you do.
