Thanks I will!Wait and see some times once others start to hatch it encourages the others to hatch. Good luck and keep us updated.
The humidity is 83% currently and temp is 99 F. Also I have a hova-bator. I can’t find videos on how to pierce the membrane. I am worried I will go to deep and stab the chick or something![]()
You can pierce the membrane. I have had chicks pip the pointy end of the shell and they did fine. Some chicks as you may know will pip, zip and hatch out rather quickly and others may take their time. How is the temperature and humidity? Also what kind of incubator are you using?
Thank you so much this is such a big help! I am gonna try it now.I carefully use a pair of tweezers just to make a small breathing hole unless it has already pierced the membrane.
Thanks for all your help. I took the egg out and put it in a warm wet towel. Then I slowly took a pair of tweezers and plucked at the membrane until it opened. I opened it a little and it appeared the membrane was attached to skin! So I let go immediately and put the egg back in the incubator. I didn’t look but I hope I didn’t make it bleed!Use Tweezers and gently pierce sort of move them sideways when you do it.
watch this video. It is a good one that shows how to do it.
Ok thanks! It seems to be doing just fine. I see something that looks like a little blood, but other than that I think the chick is gonna make it.A damp cloth is good... now that is has air it should be able to finish.. if not Chip the shell only around and that will help
