PLEASE HELP! assisting in hatching call duck eggs.

I'd hold off until this evening to do anything. Before going to bed, candle to ensure you are not going to poke the duckling, then pop a little safety hole through the shell and membrane into the air cell. I use a glasses screw driver, but many use tiny drill bits or screws. Place the egg back in its original position, and leave it for the night.
Calls are like torture to hatch! They take about 3 days... TORTURE.

the egg has stopped tapping - i only just noticed so it might've been stopped for a while - i have a tiny drill bit and some tweezers. do i need to but coconut oil (or something like that) on it to stop the embryo drying out? should
i do it now?

edit: i did it, but i'm not sure if i pierced the air sac - it definitely went through the shell though
i'm really worried

Stopped tapping? Not good. Definitely pop a safety hole. After internal pip, I usually wait about 18 hours before putting safety hole in.

i made a hole in the shell, but inside there was a thin lay that my drill bit didn't go through, it just kinda dented it inwards - so i don't know if i pierced the air sack or not.
also i'm worried i had it out of the incubator too long doing it

I wouldn't worry about it being out of the incubator too long. I'd worry about it running out of air. It's the egg still silent?

Well, if the egg is quiet, I'd probably start chipping away at the shell over the air cell so I could see what is going on. Prepare yourself for less than good news. Just know that calls are not easy, and you've tried your best.
