Yes, her feathers will grow back. Sometimes on the head if the skull is exposed, they won’t always, but most chickens with these wounds on the back will granulate in gradually. If I can find a couple of recent threads, I will post some pictures. If you can post pictures of her at different times it helps others.

If she doesn’t eat vety well, you can offer some of the foods that Shadrach listed, but most chickens will eat eggs when they won’t eat food. You may also wet her feed to get more fluids into her. Does she appear to be in shock?

She has moved around some in the cage, and when we cleaned her up. She just appears to be sleeping or resting. I see no obvious signs of distress like panting or shaking. We covered her back after cleaning with a clean light weight dish clothe and she just seams to be sleeping, although when you go into the room she opens her eyes and looks at you. For the most part she just is resting. I will try some eggs tonight i put water in with her. Her craw seams to be full so maybe i shouldnt worry about food tonight? She is on my office in a wire dog create covered with a blanket for now. We keep updating when i get home from school tonight. Fingers crossed she makes it. Should i turn on a heater in the room. Heat is on in the house but do you think she needs to be warmer?

The temperature inside the house will probably be warm enough, but if she acts shocky, she might need more heat, but no more than 75-80 degrees. Water is fine for tonight, but you can offer a little scrambled egg. Check her crop in the morning to feel if it has emptied mostly.

It sounds like you are doing a good job with her. The only thing I would add is to make sure the triple antibiotic cream you are using is the plain type, the type without added painkiller in it.

I think that Shadrach mentioned using aspirin or meloxicam earlier. It can be put in the water as well, 325 mg per each 240 ml or 8 ounces water.

The Hibiclens has a little soap in it, in addition to the chlorhexidene, so it does need to be rinsed with water. So, I would try to find either 2% chlorhexidene solution to spray on, or get the Vetericyn or Theracyn Wound spray. You also could just use normal saline on the wound as long as it does not seem to be getting infected. Watch for a bad odor or pus forming. Green skin from bruising is normal. Trimming any feathers that get into the wound is usually a good idea, and I think that was mentioned earlier as well.

Ok antibiotic ointment is the plain kind. Found this at Tractor Supply they didnt ha e much for chickens which surprised me, hope its ok. Will update after school.
If i use this spray and antibiotic ointment and doap and water will thsy be enough?

Chickens can be very resilient, but only time will tell. Make sure the wound stays clean and re-apply the ointment a couple times a day. The things to watch for now is firstly, whether she starts eating and drinking again by tomorrow and secondly, how the wounds look and whether they appear to be healing or getting infected.

Don't use peroxide, i would use vectrycin. @staceyj is an expert at this sort of thing, mabye she can help
