Please help! Chick's face is GREEN with blood all over his face!

Quote: Thanks Mitchell, I hope he does too.
That looks really bad. Any guesses on what happened?
I have no idea!! I just went out this afternoon to find him like this!! My mom fed my birds this morning, but she didn't mention anything. Ugh, I'm just so glad he's still alive.

Could he have gotten in a fight with another chicken? When my chickens Stripe and Frizz were killed by Pepper their heads looked like that.

Really? I thought of that, but I'm not sure. He was in his coop with his brothers (they're only 3 months old) so maybe they fought. He was the dominant one in the group though.

I'm going to wash his head with warm water and then put honey on it, then put him in a carrier with water and food.

All my roosters never fought when they were that young; at least, not to that point. Is he around older or bigger hens or roos?
No, he hasn't been in contact with any older birds. Only his little bros.

How should I go about washing his face? The blood is really crusty, and upon further inspection I found that his comb is black and hard. He seems to be in a little bit of pain, and also seems really stressed out.

Thanks for your help!

Just be gentle and do the best you can. I hope the little fella heals soon! He's a real doll! Best wishes to you!

Do you have any Betadine that you can use to gently wash his facial injuries? You can apply with cotton wool .I do so hope that he recovers well and quickly!
