that is the noise the female guinea fowl make.

And how are all your new babies doing today? Are they still sleepy, or active? My new babies have begun running about!

The chicks seem to be fine. That one must have just been really sleepy.
one of my store bought eggs have hatched and looks to be a rhode island red, but I don't know just yet. I might ring the farm and ask them.

How many do you have left to hatch?

I still have parts 2 and 3, of my 3 part staggered hatch left.
Part 2 is due Dec 24. Part 3 is due Dec 26.

In lockdown there is 4 guinea fowl and 1 store bought egg left.
how are your babies?

All 13 are running around like silly little ants! ha
They are quite active currently. Eating and drinking. I think their rest period has ended.

So, you still have a bit more hatching to do! Are you tired yet?

oh yes, I am soooo tierd. especially mentally. I had a minor breakdown today and had to lie outside under a tree while it subsided. this is all so stressfull now everytime I go into my room to check on them I cringe and have so much fear that I will find one dead. it's exhausting.

I do the same thing ... worry about the fragile little fluffy butts!

I guess they really are stronger than we think ... we just tend to be worried for our animals! Sometimes it is hard to enjoy them, when worry takes over.

Resting under the tree ... that sounds quite peaceful and relaxing! Glad it did the trick!

It sort of did but the urge to check on them won and I went back down to the house to stress again. but later on I went for a drive and to a cafe and that gave me a bit of a break but my mind was on the chickens the whole time. this is so hard. I hope it gets easier.
