and another guinea fowl is zipping.

Well, I'm very late to this thread, but you're doing a fine job! That's quite the staggered hatch you're attempting in one bator! I see that Kathy has been such a sweetheart, talking you through this, which is just like her. Congrats on the guineas! I used to have four and had to rehome them but I really liked the goofy things alot. Mine were very tame, but they became extremely aggressive to some of my chickens, unfortunately. I'd still like to try with them again, though. They were fabulous at eating the ticks, as most know.

sadly one of the chicks that pipped on the wrong end did not make it. he was doing fine and was nearly out and then he just stoped breathing. the other on is still alive but hasn't done anything, when the other died I broke off some shell so that he would only need to break the membrane and then he would be out but that was last night and he still hasn't done anything. should I get him out of the membrane as well?

on the good side all four of the guinea fowls made it out, themselves.

here are some photos of them.

this is buckwheat. when it was hatching we made the buckwheat noise and every time we did it he would speed up heaps.

Your chicks are just beautiful!! And they all look nice and healthy! What a wonderful job you did! Sorry to hear about the one that pipped on the wrong end.

I was going to ask how can you tell them apart!! I've never had guinea fowl before. What an interesting chick they make! Congratulation
