Please help! Do I need to put coconut oil on pip?

Yikes! I definitely don't want to risk that. It is trying so as long as it's got a will and I will start helping by straightening them and do like you said, while I'm holding it. Thank you. That gives me so much hope. I believe Seramas do have short legs since they're really small all over. The dark one is bopping around like it's a week old now. I just need to figure out how to get the dried membrane off of it's neck. Will it wear off? I'd hate to hurt it.

Hopefully that helps the sweet little thing. Usually about 24 hours after they hatch they get super rowdy. That's great about the dark one, he must be very healthy! Don't let him trample the yellowy one, it could make his/her problem worse. The dried membrane will stay stuck on for a week or so, but it won't hurt anything. Once feathers start coming through it will fall off. He might even preen it off. I'd probably jut leave it to be on the safe side.

An update from just now, the yellow chick is getting those legs underneath it somewhat! Now I'm guessing it will get the toes next!!! Thank you for helping me and sharing your experience so I avoided possibly killing this chick that already fought so hard to get here! I still can't believe it was well over 24 hours after external pip before it hatched. It's probably not odd but that was a long fight for that cutie!

That's great! I bet it will get the toes next! I'm glad I could help. 24 hours is a long time for any chick. You did a really good job helping her. She is a little fighter for sure! I bet she's so tiny. ❤

How's the curled toes chick? How many more Seramas are left, and have any more hatched?
Also, how's Fancy and Friends? Lol.

Hi! Thank you for asking. I am with everyone now about to go inside. I took some pictures but I'll have to try uploading them once I get back to the house since the signal out here is awful. It's not great in the house either but it's a little better. The yellow chick is still not able to get her toes straightened out. Her legs are so incredibly short and I believe that complicates things. I do have pictures of her feet that I'll share. Fancy Nancy is doing well. Super adorable! Her turken flockmate are quickly outgrowing her, by A LOT! They're super sweet
