Please help! Do I need to put coconut oil on pip?

It's at 73%, so if figuring in the amount it's off, I would say it's about 67. I'll work on getting it up

Edited to say that it's actually at 70% because the hydrometer is 3% off

Poor little chick. I didn't think it would hatch to be completely honest with you. It was still absorbing everything when I check on it at 2am. If it wasn't such a fighter, I honestly don't think this chick would have hatched. It wasn't able to zip properly but still got out somehow. Maybe that's what happened. I feel bad about it. Other than raising humidity, is there anything else I need to do? Leave him in the incubator, right?
 
I probably need to remove everything so he doesn't contaminate it further or cut it on shell. Is there a way to keep it clean? My daughter just mentioned the possibility of getting poop on it. The other 2 have been taken out of the incubator. I wanted to put them with the other chicks that hatched last week but they seem really really small.

Yeah, just keep the humidity high, and remove any chicks/egg shells. You could put him in a bowl, that might be easier. Just a paper towel lined bowl. Those work really good.
I'd brood these ones separately until they're 3 or 4 days old, then you can try putting them together.
 
The chick is still in the incubator and there is no change. I've kept an eye on the humidity today and it's stayed around 70%. I just upped it because it's looking dry. I believe it's at 80% now. Also, I believe the chick has a little bit of splayed leg.

I will post a picture as soon as I get back home. Last night I tried using vet wrap on the legs and the poor thing kept face planting. I couldn't leave it like that because it was getting around fine before. I also tried the bowl and the only bowl that would fit in the incubator, the chick would climb out of. In spite of the problems this chick is experiencing, it's incredibly determined and successful. I put a teeny tiny bit of triple antibiotic ointment on the exposed hernia (?) because I knew it would get dried out while I was working on the chicks legs.

Ok. Poor baby. Sounds like you're doing a good job caring for him.

I added a piece of shelf Liner. It was cut for the Brinsea, but fits well enough in the NR360. This is how he stands. I'll share more pictures of the naval and I wanted you to see the egg that he hatched from. I am shocked that he was able to hatch without assistance.
