Please help dog pen fell on my 10 week old chick

chickens can die of shock so even if there is nothing wrong with her physically she could still be in danger, But because you said she was eating and drinking she might just need a bit of time and call out your local vet when you can. but be prepared sometimes the best thing you can do is put them out of their misery if they have leg problems. But, she could be just fine.

I had a chicken with a broken pelvis after my goat headbutted her. I took her to the vet, had x rays done and the vet said they are great at healing on their own just do....everything you are doing! Keep her warm, rested, comfortable. Let her have chicken company but don't let her get bullied (or roo-ed!!!) A little physical therapy to keep range of motion but don't over-do it. He also said to feed her scrambled egg and crushed egg shells for strength and calcium, but only in the afternoons, after she had had her usual ration of pellets to keep her diet in balance. Good luck with your little lady, looks like you're doing a grand job ;)

If she was going to die of shock from this incident I expect she would have already, much closer to the time of the incident. It's my estimation that she's already been through the worst of it and is no longer in danger. No need to worry about her collapsing suddenly!

Thanks guys! Yes I do believe she is out of the “shock phase” - I seriously thought she was going to die- I was devastated! So glad she is recovering! She will lay with me and snuggle her head all into me so her head is buried lol she is the best chicken ever! Yesterday I had her inside and out of three season porch with her flock- I would bring her in- feed her and give her water with vitamin b and help her exercise and rest for a little bit and then put her back out and last night she wouldn’t settle unless I was literally laying down with her- and her flock wouldn’t go to bed either! So I put her in with them and they all went to sleep within minutes lol this morning she is fine out there with them, and they for sure don’t pick on her! On the mend!

I am so happy to report that my Sweet Pea is doing wonderful! She is pretty close to back to 100%!! Thank you all so much! I truly appreciate all your time, advice, and kind words! Forever grateful for this group!
