I let all my baby ducks out for a swim. All of them dried fast, however one of the baby ducks did not it took a long time for him to dry and he wouldn't stand. He was doing well when he got out of the water up until a few mintues later. He has dried almost completely now and is trying to stand but is still layin down. I am very worried

How old are they and did you put them back under heat lamp to dry? He may have gotten chilled. Where did they swim in a warm water tub or outside in a pool?

Hello. They swam out in a little pond outside. They are still small. He is walking now and eating and drinking water. A little wobbly but he seems to be getting better. Im still concerned though as to why this happned.

Thank you so much! He is the youngest duck so he most likey did get chilled. I did not know it was a thing and you'r guide is very helpful. He is doing better now. Thank you so much!

I still put the heat lamp on for them when they come out of the water. Only for about an hour. When they were smaller I physically dried them with a Norwex body clith--it absorbs lots of water.

I am a little confused are you saying you aren't using any heat on them other than when they get wet? You never said how old they are but most ducklings unless your home is extremely warm need some kind of warmth at least for first 4 weeks until they get in their feathers.

Can you share your set up for your ducklings?
