You never mentioned leg paralysis, so it never crossed my my mind.Hello you said her symptoms are old hen dying symptoms. Do you think she’s effected with Mareks instead? She cannot walk she just lays on the ground again she doesn’t eat or drink. Before she would sit in an isolated corner. Today she couldn’t walk or balance at all. Her crop felt squishy but she was so skinny and boney. She is surprisingly still alive with her dying pose she just lays down . She just sleeps and keeps her eyes closed. Currently she sleeping in a box with a towel on top.
Her legs weren’t paralyzed when I made this post. But yesterday she was completely paralyzed and unable to walk. Those day she would just sit most of time and not walk mabye she was paralyzed those times and it didn’t cross my mind. Sorry I just learned the symptoms of Mareks disease yesterday from Google I’m new to this. You never mentioned leg paralysis, so it never crossed my my mind.
Do you think she has Mareks. But if she does of Mareks wouldn’t it spread to my other chickens. My other flock members seem perfectly healthy. So I’m confused if she has Mareks or not? Mabye it’s a disease that mimics Mareks. Please help me out?!!You never mentioned leg paralysis, so it never crossed my my mind.
Is her belly swollen, like a big water balloon? Just a thought. I've had a bad case of water belly in a hen a couple years ago it caused her to lay down most of the time due to the amount of fluid that was weighing her down. Her legs weren’t paralyzed when I made this post. Her crop is swollen and squishy it’s seems normal size and liquidy. Her stomach is extremely skinny and bones like she’s starving. Whenever I would make her stand she was unable to stand and would lay down. She also feels very Light. Is her belly swollen, like a big water balloon? Just a thought. I ended up putting her down the same day I noticed it. My sister, & dad were tending to the birds for awhile since I broke my hand, & they failed to notify me of the ailing girl.
There's Curled Toe Paralysis(Riboflavin Deficiency), it causes paralysis of the feet, not too the entire legs. I've treated this successfully with 400mg, Riboflavin capsules 4-5 times a day until they regained the use of their foot/feet.Do you think she has Mareks. But if she does of Mareks wouldn’t it spread to my other chickens. My other flock members seem perfectly healthy. So I’m confused if she has Mareks or not? Mabye it’s a disease that mimics Mareks. Okay, so her abdomen(Below the vent), is sunken in, & not swollen? Her crop is swollen and squishy it’s seems normal size and liquidy. Her stomach is extremely skinny and bones like she’s starving.
Yes just her crop kinda feels full. I don’t thing she has a curled leg disease. Her stance is more like a chicken dying she lays down like a hen dying and she sleeps keeping her eyes closed most of the time. Her body is very skinny like she’s starving herself.Okay, so her abdomen(Below the vent), is sunken in, & not swollen?
Another thought, would be cancer. But I would treat her malnourishment to see if she gains weight. Rapid weightloss is a common symptom of cancer.Yes just her crop kinda feels full. I don’t thing she has a curled leg disease. Her stance is more like a chicken dying she lays down like a hen dying and she sleeps keeping her eyes closed most of the time.
