Ok we've taken off a bit of the shell from the first egg, only in the air cell. We stopped when we saw a tiny spot of blood on the membrane, I think we uncovered it rather than caused it (I hope). Anyway he seems to have perked up a bit for now.
Don't know what to do about the other egg. We cleared a tiny hole in the membrane hours ago, he poked his beak out a couple of times when we made the hole but nothing since. The membrane looks brown. Should we try to open the shell up a bit more? I don't even know if he's still alive in there
