Give it some time -- it still might be ok. They do take long breaks & stop moving for a while. Is the whole top of it off? Can you replace that piece of shell & then wrap it in the damp towel?

thanks,..i did read the sticky..but..nowhere that i could see did it say anything about helping when the air sacks are very messed up and the chicks has no room in the shell to turn around to pip...so, i was thinking..well..its not a genetic problem why it cant pip..its a shell problem..so, maybe i should help...UGH!

is he facing the top of the shell? if so i would leave him be...he can pip the membrane like usual then he'll be fine, just gave him a head start...probably ok!
