for you and your little one. I don't know much about this, but could you maybe gently place a piece of one of the other chicks eggshells, kind of resting over him, sort of like a little tent? To kind of help protect him a little from the others?

Maybe it would help slow evaporation a little bit.

How far along is the chick? i.e., what day? Keep the membrane misted with warm water. Warm enough that it does not cool on contact. Hope all is going well.
I always try not to intervene. But if you've ever raise Serama, you know that sometimes they are too small to get the shell opened and it happened to me again last week. Poor little thing peeped for two days and I should have helped out but didn't. Little chick died in the shell. Perfectly formed and developed. Next time I will go with my gut instinct again. I have saved more chicks than lost.

I have saved more chicks than I have lot by helping the ones that need it out. It's hard but I feel if they were going to die any way I'm at least going to try an save it if I can.

If it starts to look dry I usually at that point start to help it to get air and then keep watching it. I go with my gut as to when to help it all the way out and when to just pip for air. Good luck guys
