Hi all! I posted Tuesday about my last baby that hatched and I still am at a loss. I don’t want to give up if I need to wait but also don’t want to have this baby suffering.
It hatched late Tuesday morning and just never took off and gained strength. It would go backward in the incubator when it tried to walk. One it dried and I got it out it was holding it’s head down a little and still not walking straight. I posted here and the guess was perhaps wry neck. Suggestions came in for vitamin supplements so I ordered some nutridrench from tractor supply but couldn’t grab it until the following morning because of quarantine related hour changes. Anyway, I started that on the water the next day and am syringe feeding it every few hours with it’s chicken crumbles watered down with boiled egg yolk mixed in. I am not exactly sure how much to feed it but I try just little bits at a time. I thought it was doing a little better Wednesday night and it was trying to peck some of the mix off my finger but yesterday evening it couldn’t do anything but forward rolls over and over again. I had to just wrap it in a blanket and lay very still with it on the couch so that it could rest. It bends forward with head tucked to chest and shakes it’s head back and forth several times and just rolls and rolls. I also noticed as I syringe feed its tongue goes more out of the left side of its mouth. It’s heartbreaking. I took a video but I can’t attach it and am not sure how to. I put a few pictures from taking it out of the incubator. Any advice about what to do would be so appreciated. Thank you.
