Yesterday I found a dead baby bird in my backyard and today I found another in the exact same spot but this one is alive. I didnt see it and accidentally rolled a gate over it. I think I broke its wing and I feel terrible. It didn’t make any noise when I went to move its wing back into place and I put it into a brooder for the night. I don’t have any experience with pigeons, and I don’t know if it’ll make it. Its breathing is fast too, is that normal?

I would check if you have a wildlife rehabilitator in your area.

Until you're able to find out...

I'd keep it warm, around 80°F or so. Have you tried to see if it'll drink some water? If it's not seeming to want to, try an eyedropper or a needless syringe to the side of its beak and just put a drop at a time there.

If you think it'll eat, you can try some cooked egg mash, or if you have a dog or cat, you can moisten some of their food for it.

It really would do best at a wildlife place though. Good luck!

It’s 9pm where I live now and I found it a little over an hour ago, I’ll have to wait till morning to call around. I do have cat, dog and all flock food here but I’m wondering if I should bother it since it is late and he should be sleeping? Or should I try anyways, I really don’t want to stress it out anymore :(

As long as it's resting, it's healing, so maybe leave it to rest for the night. I wouldn't give it the chicken feed, or if you did, very little of it as that's full of stuff it doesn't need. Ironically, the cat or dog food is better for it, or mashed eggs. If you have frozen peas, you can thaw those and mash that into it too, or just try feeding it one pea at a time.

Ok, I’ll try mashed eggs in the morning, thank you so much! I really hope the little guy pulls through

Me too! I rescued one that had no feathers, and grew it to adult. I fed differently in that case, but it's rewarding when we can help them to thrive!
I went to check it closer since it was moving a bit and it looks like it’s bleeding around the leg and a there’s a tiny wound in its little armpit too, I put flour on both areas to stop the bleeding, I know it’s chances are probably pretty slim so my hopes aren’t too high…I’ll try to update in the morning

He’s made it through the night but is being stubborn about eating so I’m giving him a drop of diluted egg and sugar at a time until the stores open. Nearest rehab center won’t open till Wednesday and the 24 hour vet said that the hospitals around here aren’t aloud to take wildlife so I’m gonna have to keep him for a little longer than I thought

If it's swallowing that, it should perk it up a little bit, as who knows when it ate last. It is young, so it eats more frequently.

Do NOT give it egg. Any dairy can kill it.:)!

Some cream of wheat or cooked oats will do it. Any dairy can kill it.:)

No, water either. Baby doves only drink crop milk from there parents. If you have a local pet store near by, maybe look for some baby bird formula there.
