I checked out your bycwebsite. Looks like you have lots of animal experience and sense. I too ended up with an unexpected rooster with my 8 chicks. They are 21 weeks now and I am so glad to have him. He keeps everyone in line and yes he crows but usually for a reason - a very special sound means hawk above, a simple crow could mean mailman, kids in woods, husband coming home. When one of the hens got caught in a dog run, he made such a fuss, I knew to come out and rescue her. I'm just starting to get eggs and plan to take them around to the neighbors "to share the bounty"
