Please help me ID this chicken for my mom!

If you look close at feet of the chicks around the Hen they have clean legs so I don't think it would be a Brahma. Could be a clean legged brahma mix through. I don't know.

I would think a Light Sussex or mix containing this. Too bad we can't see the feet or the comb.
I adore that photo, that's something to treasure forever.

I noticed the clean legs of the chicks too, but she could just be a broody. Did you notice that some of them are ducklings? Am I right??

I think either light or buff brahma would recapture the feeling you are looking for...I love the picture!!!

Poupulles there are 2 French breeds wit this patern-Bourbourg and Bourbonnaise. Open Feather site go to LINKS go to BREEDS and open link French breeds of poultry.You will see many French breeds

Keeping in mind that there were rarely "purebred" chickens on those kinds of farms, its likely that she could have clean legs.
Yes those are ducklings, including the one my mom is hauling around. And thats my GREAT grandmother feeding scraps to the poupoules.
