So your silkies are silkies. You don't need to tell people they aren't "purebred" silkies. You can just say they are silkies.

Ohhh OK! See I have 3 Easter Egger Roos and I thought an Easter egger was any cross breed chicken! Wow am I learning a lot tonight! I am getting excited to either hear a crow or see an egg from the silkies! I guess I have to wait a few more months :

Silkies can take a while to start laying. You may see first eggs at 6-8 months of age- wouldn't be uncommon. They go broody a lot, and stop laying during that time.
