You have no idea.....wait until chicken math starts and you have 4 different chicken areas because of ages. Don't even get me started on the ducks!! Good Luck with your little fuzzies. Is your coop done yet?

OP here is a link listing toxic plants and their toxicity. http://www.busybirds.net/Toxic.html Also on that site is a huge list of "safe plants" I didn't see garlic or rhubarb on either list. Mine seem to stay away from the rhubarb here. Chick starter is what the chicks need to be on for 10-12 weeks then you can feed a flock raiser until they begin to lay, then its layer rations with oyster shells (I offer those free choice rather then mixing in with the feed)

i recommend that you find organic feed, and if you're going to feed them treats, give them grit

Ok I am confused (and thank you Chickenaddict for posting the link)...the site says that Pine Trees are toxic, Level 6/7, however most people start the chicks on pine shavings. What is the difference between the tree itself and the shavings?? leaves? bark? Granted, Level 6 is "unknown" but Level 7 shows it to be toxic...

Good eye, sadie, and very good question.
Level 7 states that it is known to cause problems in animals, but it would be nice if they could specify what the problem was, or to which animals. Upset tummy? Puking? Death?
How, exactly, would one even know if an animal had an upset stomach anyway? Maybe the problem lies in the ingesting of the needles? Or the sap, maybe?
Does anyone have any insight here?
