Please help my bantam

Sorry about your bantam. I can see at least one puncture wound on her head. It is probably because her head was in a vise by the weasel that she is having trouble swallowing. Hoping the swelling will go down. I also would try to give some fluids, sugar water or electrolytes with a syringe according to the link in post 14. Tube feeding might be something to try for a couple of days. A length of aquarium air tubing or oxygen tubing can be connected to a 35 ml syringe from the feed store to use temporarily until you can get a proper tube feeding set.

I have a hen that was bitten in a raccoon attack two years ago, through her jaw and into an eye. We had to use a syringe to feed her sugar water and electrolytes because of the swelling. Eventually feed that was super soaked and mashy was given. She lost the eye but after a while the swelling went down, but it took a lot of giving liquids frequently throughout the day and keeping her warm and in a quiet place to destress. I had to keep close watch on the wounds to try and catch any infection early especially with wound being on her head-- if that does become a concern, there is info on this site about using antibiotics and dosing etc. The more time that passes, hopefully the swelling will go down more on your hen and she will be able to tolerate swallowing more easily even if you have to assist her. Good luck, and i hope she recovers soon 🐓❤️

There are no avian vets near me. :( or i would have. Even though she is an egg layer..they are all my loves and not just farm animals to me. :( they are my pets ♥️ thank you for responding

So as she tries to swallow its like she can't...should I try to lightly and nicely massage it a bit ? I tried to feed her some egg yolk
I agree, I wouldn't massage the throat/neck.

I'd focus on getting her through shock, giving electrolytes or sugar water. They can be shocky for a couple of days. Offer watery feed or Kaytee Exact Baby bird formula (the formula can be syringe or tube fed).

If you're able to soften up her food it may go down a little easier, you may have to hand feed her if she can't swallow herself.
I just mix their feed with warm water until it turns oat-mealy, takes about 5 minutes to soak up. I would probably add in some electrolytes or vitamins as well.
So we doesn't want to eat regular food and honestly she can barely take water without choking , she is so small that it's hard to see with the dropper and when I got liquid in there, she shook and acted like it she was coughing something out ..now there looks like small little mucus spots come out when she shakes and does that...none of my birds are sick or anything, and the attack has left her whole throat dark purple ... she walks around and seems to be breathing okay.. im wondering if the trachea is okay cause she isn't struggling to breathe, then her esophagus I hope would be okay as well... but I'm getting worried...
