It looks rather bruised so I'm not sure I would go about touching it, if you have a syringe you might be able to shoot soft food straight down her throat. So as she tries to swallow its like she can't...should I try to lightly and nicely massage it a bit ? I tried to feed her some egg yolk
There are no avian vets near me.or i would have. Even though she is an egg layer..they are all my loves and not just farm animals to me.
they are my pets
thank you for responding
I agree, I wouldn't massage the throat/neck.So as she tries to swallow its like she can't...should I try to lightly and nicely massage it a bit ? I tried to feed her some egg yolk
So we doesn't want to eat regular food and honestly she can barely take water without choking , she is so small that it's hard to see with the dropper and when I got liquid in there, she shook and acted like it she was coughing something out ..now there looks like small little mucus spots come out when she shakes and does that...none of my birds are sick or anything, and the attack has left her whole throat dark purple ... she walks around and seems to be breathing okay.. im wondering if the trachea is okay cause she isn't struggling to breathe, then her esophagus I hope would be okay as well... but I'm getting worried...If you're able to soften up her food it may go down a little easier, you may have to hand feed her if she can't swallow herself.
I just mix their feed with warm water until it turns oat-mealy, takes about 5 minutes to soak up. I would probably add in some electrolytes or vitamins as well.
