These are my 2 Cream Legbars. They are about 4 weeks old. The lady I got them from said they were both female but they are different colors. One is blackish and they other is more yellow. I know cream legbars are autosex but I am just worried because theyre different colors. Please help
!

The one in the back is possibly a CCL pullet but the one in the front isn't even a legbar :/

What do you think the one in the front is?

That one in the back looks like a roo to me with the tail feathers. I'm going through this right now myself with some recent hatchlings. I have 12 between 4 -7 weeks. I'm trying to gauge it by the way they walk. Roo's definitely do it different at a certain point. But then again I have one about 6 months old who I thought was a beautiful hen until she crowed;-)

so I won't officially know what they are until they're older?

the bird in the back is a pullet, but I'm not positive she's a CCL. There's no crest and the coloring seems off to me.

The dark bird isn't screaming cockerel to me. It's something blue but it's hard to narrow down at this point. I'd contact the seller and ask what else it could be. If you paid $$$ for CCL pullets, I'd get a refund or exchange on that bird at least.

She said they both had female sexing traits and they were cream legbars. I guess I was played?

Well, there was something going on. Well bred CCL are indeed an auto sexing breed, but the breeder has to maintain that trait and cull for it. When the CCL hit America a few years ago, there was such a buzz about it many folks got their hands on a few birds and just started churning out chick as fast as they could, with no regard to breed standard or autosexing traits. Crests also appear to have been overlooked and are absent or very skimpy.

With the blue color, I'm thinking the breeder had another line of birds going, maybe Marans to make olive eggers with the CCL. I'd contact the seller, send them pics and find out what happened.
