If that's the only way you can keep them warm, I guess you can use the incubator for emergency heat. But you need to go buy a brooder with a heat lamp or brooder plate NOW.I have incubator. Should I do that?

Thanks for the advice you are so helpfulIf that's the only way you can keep them warm, I guess you can use the incubator for emergency heat. But you need to go buy a brooder with a heat lamp or brooder plate NOW.
They need to be able to get out of the heat to regulate their body temperature, so a lamp would probably be better than the incubator right now, as long as you can get them to 95F degrees in the hot spot.Do you have a desk lamp or something that puts off heat?
I just got my papa’s plug in heater, bird warmed up and took a poo, poo is watery but otherwise normalDo you have a desk lamp or something that puts off heat?
Make sure they can't burn themselves. Are you able to go back to Rural King soon and get a brooder (a large stock tank, tub, or tote works) and a heat lamp or brooder plate? A thermometer helps as well to make sure the temperature in the hot side and the cool side is just right.I just got my papa’s plug in heater, bird warmed up and took a poo, poo is watery but otherwise normal
No. I will try to get a heat lamp, but I can’t todayMake sure they can't burn themselves. Okay, I hope your chicks recover! Again, make sure they can get away from the heat when they want to so they can regulate their body temperature.No. I will try to get a heat lamp, but I can’t today
What do you think? Got the heater and a well ventilated boxOkay, I hope your chicks recover! Again, make sure they can get away from the heat when they want to so they can regulate their body temperature.
Here is a hot spot temperature chart for chicks by age:
They will no longer need the supplemental heat once they are 6 weeks old and fully feathered.
I guess this setup is okay temporarily (for a day or so). They might still be too cold though unless you've used a thermometer to make sure it's the correct temp inside the box.. You really need a larger box with a place they can sit in the heat to warm themselves and a cooler side to get out of the heat. Make sure you offer chick starter and chick grit at all times. What do you think? Got the heater and a well ventilated box
