Please help with sick peacock

Quote: As an adult she should weigh 3kg-4kg (5.5-8.8 pounds), so two tablets of Baytril aren't enough for her. She needs antibiotics ASAP, so probably a good idea to get her started on the Tylan. The longer you wait, the more likely that lump will solidify and require surgery to remove the mass of hardened pus. This is what happens if you wait too long: http://connerhills.com/sinus_infection_removal.html

Can you go get some Tylan 200? That might be easier to give her than the Tylan 50. You should also order some Baytril.

Ahhh thats awful! I will get the Tylan 200 asap. I did quite a bit of research last night and I read many post stating that its best to inject the Tylan directly into the sinus? What would you do Kathy? If im not able to get the Tylan 200 today I should start the Tylan 50 just to get it started in her system.

I would start the Tylan 50 orally. How are you at giving meds orally?

here's her eye today, it's gotten a lot worse. I have washed it out with saline and after cleaning it I tryed to put pressure in different spots but couldnt get anything to come out. It is still really soft and mushy so thats good I have time to treat her without I hope having to lance it. I gave her the Tylan and will again tonight.

That's what I would do for sure. It may seem like a lot, but it's well within the normal limits of what I've read. Be sure she swallows it and doesn't inhale it.

Careful, the end of that tube has sharp edges and could cut her. Might be a good idea to melt the end with a lighter.
