Well you guys have had a lot more experience with sick birds than I have, and I sure don't want to give bad advice.
Here's what I'm thinking, FWIW:
I keep asking about poop, because it doesn't sound like the bird ever got treated for coccidia, and there could conceivably still be worms as well. Those things, if present, would make it harder for the bird to recover.
Continuing on Tylan sounds sensible, but I am personally fearful of giving Tylan as an injection due to the concern over tissue damage. And that bird is still very small. But it's something to consider, for sure.
I don't know if Baytril might work in this bird, no way to know if it has the same disease organism or if the organism has same susceptibility as KsKingBee's bird... A round of Baytril might be worth a try?
I also think it is important to ask if the bird is gaining weight at this point? As an indicator of whether it may be recovering? It sounds like it is doing better, overall.
So maybe continuing the Tylan orally for another five days would make sense, to see if that gives complete relief. If not, then perhaps the Baytril, or gritting the teeth and trying the injections?
Meanwhile, figuring out whether to treat again for worms or dose for coccidia.... and I don't know, can she give those treatments while also continuing the orally dosing with the Tylan?
