Please help with sick peacock

I started looking up information about it and it looks like it could be really useful for some kinds of sinus infections and respiratory illnesses. Wondering if anyone has used it in peafowl? Apparently it's very effective against some organisms that cause respiratory infections, that don't respond well to Tylan and some other meds... Apparently is particularly good against mycoplasmosis and chronic respiratory disease. I read that it is more palatable to birds if some brown sugar is also added to the drinking water, or if it is fed in a mash, and that it should NOT be given at the same time as anti-coccidial medications, or for a week before or after.

Here's links I found:

http://www.ah.novartis.com/products/livestock/poultry/denagard/index.shtml

It is apparently also available at Amazon:

So now I'm really interested to hear if anyone has tried this in Peas? It sounds like it might be helpful for some kinds of sinusitis and respiratory illnesses?

Okay, I gotta quit looking stuff up, but really glad I found the thread that had this link on it... Will definitely be useful when I can't sleep

Shay, she is getting better right? She is just not totally cured yet. Continue with what you have been doing until she is well even if it takes two weeks. Mine took almost two weeks of injections before it quit gasping and coughing. I actually had two doing it, the other got better in about a week. I know there is a risk with toxicity but she needs to get better so keep doing what it takes to get her well. If I am wrong and you lose her I will give you an IB hen chick. I think she just needs to stay the course to get better.
she has improved but not compleatly. Im going to do everything in my power and I know in my heart that I wont lose her

I will be able to get the Tylan 200 on Saturday. We live in Konawa and the only place I have been able to find the Tylan 200 is in Shawnee at the tractor supply store. Im going to weigh her tomarrow and it amazes me because she has a great appetite and eats so much but doesnt seem to be growing at all. I check on her on and off all night long like you would a baby

I love her so much and she will be okay. Everybody has such great advise on here and I thank you all for all of your help and not to mention checking on her!

I'm not sure if that's enough...  @casportpony
, can you tell us how much Safeguard would be an appropriate dose for this chick?  Shay, have you weighed her lately?  Good that you used it for 5 days!

How are her stools looking, and do you have the ability to have a vet do a fecal exam for worms and coccidia?  A regular vet should be able to do that, doesn't need to be an avian vet...
yesterday she didnt move off her perch much and the poo below her was really watery and dark brown but today its more solid, she has a great appetite but doesnt seem to be growing....I haven't been able to weigh her yet we are getting a scale this weekend. In the mean time im going to take Kathy's advise and take her to the post office and weigh her. I was going to do it today but it was 22 degrees outside and I didnt want to take her out in the cold.
