Please help....

I may have my husband do it when he gets home, but I’m not really sure what we are looking for. I will see if I can find a YouTube video or something on the internet to guide us through the necropsy.

I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who responded with heartfelt good wishes and to those with all the excellent advice. This is why I joined this site. I love raising chickens, but this is so heartbreaking for us to go through this a second time, that I am not sure we will pursue raising chickens again in the future if we lose the remaining 4. Thanks again!

the juvenile age of the birds involved and at least two exhibited possible neurological symptoms....lameness and neck issue.... shortly before death.
I missed this... what post says this?

Please don't give up! Many things are manageable when you can spend the time to monitor them closely. Doing the simple stuff like weighing them and watching their poop will save them if they have a treatable disease. Problem is many people, myself included, wait until the bird has been pooping yellow/green for days, or have lost lots of weight, and these birds are very hard to save even with heroic measures.

Grab each bird, give it a thorough exam, and get a weight on it.

This is the thread I was referring to

I understand about not wanting to vaccinate for it.... I'm of the same opinion. Unfortunately adding the birds from the breeder may have significantly increased the risks which you need to keep low if you are going the unvaccinated route. Hatching eggs from the breeder would have been a safer option if you wanted to increase your flock..... we all live and learn with this disease..... I bought an infected bird at auction and brought it into my flock, so I'm not in any way being critical.

It’s hard for me to tell. He didn’t look like he lost weight, but he was still growing I think. He felt light to me when I picked him up, but again I’m not really sure how heavy he should feel.
Check the muscle on his breast/keel/sternum, what number is he?
