Please help

I recently went on vacation for a week to Florida and my neighbor watched our chickens for us. Chickens are pretty independent besides eggs and clean water. But since rodents etc are big here they need to be locked up at sunset. When I came home and checked on my girls and all of them were fine besides Zigzag it seems her egg hole has prolapsed or is bloody. I feel so terrible as this looks very uncomfortable. My neighbor seems to be clueless. What can I do for this? My mom thinks she should be put down but i feel this is something that can be fixed.

This can be life threatening, not only because the prolapse is drying out from being exposed, but other chickens can peck it like so much raw meat and then the hen would be toast. So isolated her to an infirmary crate right now.

When you read the article, it should instruct you that this is most likely caused by a stuck egg. Give her a calcium tablet immediately.

Set her up on some towels warmed in the dryer, and place her crate in a dimly lighted quiet spot.
