PLEASE HELP!

My duck is almost 2. He's been having these weird episodes, like he starts to choke for a few minutes and shake his head. Its being going on for two months now and as of late its become more persistent... after I massage his neck for a bit he goes back to normal...
The choking is not due to eating but rather when he gets excited.
Idk what to do....

Does anyone know what's happening to him? And how I can help treat this?

Can you feel along his neck for an obstruction maybe he swallowed something that didn't go all the way down. That doesn't look like courting to me. Maybe even look into his mouth down into his throat. He can eat without any trouble and his poop normal.

I have known many drakes, muscovy and pekin, that have "belched". I think your boy is an extreme example of that. Some duck keepers say that the drakes are adjusting their crops when they do it. Others say that it is male behavior showing off .. I do know that I had a pekin drake that would repeatedly belch and clearly thought he was a "clever boy" doing it. He was that sort of drake.

If your boy is eating and otherwise doing well, I suspect it is just extreme "belching"/"crop adjustment/"gross drake behavior". But be sure to have a good look down his throat as @Miss Lydia advised. When you massaged his neck, you probably massaged his crop and that is why he stopped for a while

I tried a few times to open his mouth after such an episode and nothing.
Nothing down his neck..
He does most things normally.
I haven't noticed any change in his weight.. Just odd

I've never heard of that before.
But it sounds like him when I think about it.

Do you think it can be dangerous?

I went on so far as thinking it might be aspergillosis...

He eats and all in all looks alright, that's exactly what confuses me.

I'm new to ducks, so you probably can imagine the stress

I've grown so attached to them... to me it's amazing, I never imagined I'd have ducks.
