Please Host / Upload / Store Your Pics On BYC - Not Photobucket etc.

Over the 10 years I've been running BYC I've had one nemesis: It's pictures loaded on 3rd party sites that are then posted on BYC... and then later the image links are broken.

A quick scroll through out coop pages will show how sad it is when some of our most awesome pages have pics that go MIA.

Well, the problem is about to get worse:

We have countless awesome pages on BYC that are now almost useless because people host with 3rd party sites that end up moving things or closing-shop, then all the pics here on BYC are gone.

Our photo upload system is very easy to use (either directly into posts or into the gallery system). It's FREE and we provide unlimited pictures... and best of all, no worries about future changes and broken images.

So, PLEASE (especially if you're creating an article) upload your pics to BYC vs. using one of these 3rd party services!

Photobucket changed their policies, so any hotlinking to other sites now breaks all the images: http://www.pcmag.com/news/354711/photobucket-breaks-image-links-across-the-internet

Can you PM me with a couple link examples to pages where you see that?

I also got a notice from PB a while back. I used it for another forum, several years ago. I realized many of my pictures from that forum will no longer be accessible, but I'm not paying the ungodly amount of money for whatever is they are trying to do. They lost me as a user.

(sad thing is on that other forum, almost everyone used PB)
