Please identify my Chicken's Breed?

Last thing. When you said appenzellar x d'uccle that sounded like you meant an f1 cross. You can imagine my confusion

EE background. Not D'uccle.

No feathered legs. And the comb is a pea-comb/rose comb (really those two combs are the same, one is just much larger). D'uccles have single combs. Polish and Appies (as I call them - I can never spell them right) have V-combs. That means if it's a D'uccle/Appie mix, it would have a V or Single comb. It has neither.

Appies and D'uccles also have waddles (appy hens have small ones though). This one does not. EE's do not have waddles in general. They are mixed-breed, so it is possible that they do, but most do not.

Appies and D'uccles are also MOTTLED, not barred. This one has evidence of barring in the tail. Lots of it. There is also evidence of lacing in the crest, stomach, and wing feathers. That's another indication of EE, and not Appies or D'uccles.

But really, the comb is what gave it away for me. The size (which looks to be a large fowl and NOT a bantam) is also another indicator. But I'm stuck on that comb, by far.

She really looks like an EE crossed with some breed of crested chicken. The beard/muff and pea comb scream EE. It also looks like her legs are a brownish olive (which is another EE trait). The pic doesn't show the leg color well. but they sure don't look bright yellow or white or light colored. If she starts to lay blue or blue green eggs you will know for sure if she has some EE in her.

EEs can actually lay pink, brown, and white. Just not as common or what they are "known for". Plus when crossing an. Already mixed breed with a purebred, you can't be sure of egg color outcome. But I completely agree that she is a new mixed with a created breed

She is for sure a mixed breed. I was just stating that if she lays blue or greenish blue eggs it would confirm a strong presence of EE in her gene pool.

Thank you everyone for all your expertise. You are so helpful and I value all your shared information. Our chicken is doing well and we believe she is now laying a blue/green egg. We do have 2 other EE's, and one of those also lays blue/green eggs. I wish all of you the best is raising your flocks. Again thank you.

She is so cute and adorable. Their crests do look similar.
