Looks like he also has a very small patch of white on his throat.

You are going to make me go look aren't you? I think all my peas have white throats, the hens have cream color breasts, but the only real white feathering on the body is on this one birds wings. So, again, will the colors change, perhaps getting more white when he molts?

split pied peafowl ( means carrying one copy of pied gene ) do not show any white flight feathers or white throat patch. Dark pied ( meaning carrying two copies of pied gene ) and also split white peafowl usually show

Thank you, I was beginning to feel like I was the butt of a joke. Perhaps I should call him Thora. This is the only IB I have that has any white on it and was wondering if it might be considered 'split to' either pied or white. It only has about six white feathers and they hardly show unless you fan the wing out. 2013 hatch... perhaps more will come in after molt?
But if there's already a Thora, should you name him something else so we don't confuse someone. How about Thoretta?

Kathy, Zaz,Dylansmom,,,your all in time out until you tell yourself enough times that the bird in the thread being asked about is a hen.Regardless of what god's intentions are,you are looking at a hen,,forget the barring on the wings,,it's a hen.Forget the mating calls to come,it's a hen.Forget the full train in maybe 2 more years,it's still a hen.I know how to sex peafowl!! (where have we heard that be4?)

KsKingBee,
Please ignore these misbehaving rowdies who are derailing your thread. As you can see, they have been put in an official FBC "time out."

You've got a very beautiful and healthy looking boy there even if the people you got him from were confused!

As you can plainly see, confusion is quite common here in pealand...

This one has a that little bit of white I was thinking I saw on your guy:

And so does this girl:

It is proving to be quite easy to confuse these peabrains.

After the marathon over on 'Those needing help' thread they must have thought I needed to know the sex of this bird. Thoretta is a male! I know how to sex peafowl, after all I read the thread.

No, this is my only bird that shows white and as such I may want to keep him for breeding, time will tell.

Now am I correct in assuming that there is a 1/8 chance that his offspring would show either pied or white if bread to IB?
